Interview with Miguel Angel Lemus

Miguel Angel Lemus. He has over 30 years of senior level experience in development, sales & marketing in the resort industry of Mexico. Mr. Lemus strengths are the analysis of demand and supply, market positioning in the resort industry, consultant, promoter and developer of real estate.

As President of Lemmus Servicios Inmobiliarios & Resort Marketing Services, which he launched in 2000, Mr. Lemus specializes in the marketing of Master Planned Resort Communities, and in the sale process of land for hotel properties, shopping centers, marinas and golf courses. Lemus also acts in the role of independent marketing consultancy for various industry accounts for the development of time-shares, condo hotels and fractional ownership.


VM: Miguel Angel, tell us a little bit about Lemmus Group.

With over 30 years of experience in the market, we specialize in tourist developments. Our mission is to create innovative concepts that will keep up with current and future markets. We usually participate in every development phase, from planning the concept to selling to the end buyer.


VM: How do you think Lemmus will help the real estate market in Mexico?

We are constantly training our agents and real estate professionals on new ethics and new real estate laws. One of the things we are doing is collaborating with AMPI and other associations to educate our salespeople. On a company-level, we offer beautiful finished products, attractive financing plans, and magnificent prices that will benefit homeowners.


VM: How are you managing this real estate recession?

We are redesigning our product mix and our pricing strategy. We are also cutting some operating and marketing costs in order to increase our efficiency.


VM: What are your current projects?

We have over 20 active projects for sale in 5 different states in Mexico. Some of our larger projects are in Guadalajara, Mazatlan, Puerto Vallarta, Mexico City, Cancun, Isla Mujeres, Riviera Nayarit, and the Riviera Maya.


VM: Why Invest in Mazatlan? What advantages does Mazatlan have over other destinations in Mexico?

Mazatlan is currently experiencing an unprecedented development in condominium-style projects, which is satisfying the needs of a market that looks to stay in condominiums rather than hotel accommodations. More than ever, a hotel room is not enough for currents families, and as a result, this has become an attractive segment for real estate developers.


VM: How does Peninsula differentiate from other competitive projects?

Peninsula has some of the most luxurious common areas and amenities that our clients endeavor. These include a movie theater, lobby bar, spa-gym, swimming pools, and a shopping mall with restaurants, shops, and boutiques.
